Marlo is committed to her family. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and proud member of a military family, she understands the importance of family values and the responsibility to create a better future for the next generation. Her experiences as a mother and grandmother have shaped her deep passion for building safer, stronger, and more supportive communities.
As a Christian, Marlo is guided by her faith ad strives to reflect the principles of compassion, service and integrity in her life and leadership. Her background in a military family has instilled in her a strong sense of duty and respect for service to others.
Marlo enjoys unwinding by watching sci-fi shows, including the Big Bang Theory, and indulges in mindless TV shows that offer a good laugh. She also enjoys comedy shows, and more than anything simply enjoying time with her family and friends.
These personal values and experiences drive Marlo’s dedication to policies that benefit families, improve access to essential services, and promote opportunities for growth and well-being for all residents of Arapahoe County.
Leadership
Marlo’s leadership began early in life, shaped by her personal experiences as a teenage survivor of sexual assault. This pivotal moment in her life ignited a passion for advocacy and a lifelong commitment to fighting for justice, public safety, and the protection of civil rights. Her resilience and determination have been a driving force behind her leadership in the community.
With over seven years of experience on Centennial City Council, Marlo has demonstrated he ability to work collaboratively across all levels of government and with diverse groups to create real, lasting change. She has been a strong advocate for public safety, homelessness, housing, and addressing the rising cost of living. Her leadership in these areas is not just professional - it’s deeply personal.
Whether it’s advocating for better infrastructure, reducing homelessness, or supporting local small businesses, Marlo leads with empathy, integrity, and a deep understanding of the challenges families face. Her background in public service combined with her personal experiences, has fueled her passion for ensuring that Arapahoe County residents and businesses are heard, supported, and empowered to thrive.
