Community Health Matters

As a trusted community partner, I will continue to support our first responders, including mental health co-responders who work alongside law enforcement to ensure people safely receive the help they need. I’m deeply committed to expanding access to comprehensive healthcare across Arapahoe County. Through my work with the Arapahoe County Public Health Department, the County’s Behavioral Health Subcommittee and collaboration with the Harm Reduction Team, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of integrating mental and physical health services. I will continue advocating for increased access to behavioral health care, harm reduction strategies, disease prevention, immunizations, WIC (Women, Infant, Children program), substance use treatment, overdose prevention, contraception and family planning, and health education. Additionally, I will expand homelessness resources, ensuring that individuals experiencing homelessness have access to the wraparound support they need to rebuild their lives. These services are essential for supporting individuals and families across Arapahoe County.

Priorities:

  • Access to Healthcare Mental health services - I currently serve on the Arapahoe County Behavioral Health Subcommittee. I would like to continue working for those with behavioral health conditions by working to reduce recidivism and promote recovery.

  • Physical health services

  • Immunizations: Increase awareness and access to vaccinations by working with Arapahoe County’s Harm Reduction Team

  • Disease prevention

  • Harm reduction

  • Health education

My background includes working with the County’s Harm Reduction team to educate and provide services to individuals transitioning out of homelessness. Contraception, family planning resources, overdose prevention and substance abuse treatment, vaccine education, tobacco cessation, opioid crisis management, and behavioral health services.
